About Us
Dissolving structures of old
The Absurd Architecture is working in the shift towards another world with the Time of Dissolution, a practice that through the interconnectedness of architecture and art seeks to challenge us to pause within the multi-crisis we collectively live in.
We explore today how the forces that human activity have set in motion are reshaping what it means to be living and making living on earth. Like the caterpillar dissolving into cellular matter within the cocoon, or the compost breaking down the old into fertile soil, we investigate what might emerge in the uncertainty of dissolution.
If the words and structures through which we have built our societies are allowed to decay it might open up spaces for other kinds of thoughts, response-abillities or ways of living and making life together. Dissolution is not an ending, but an act of staying and remaining with the fear, darkness, and unknowing, so that transformation can happen in the not yet imaginable.

Our point of departure
Our starting point is a wish to play, stay, live and create living by using the philosophical orientation of the absurd. The absurd can be seen in the meeting between our human wish for a rational world and the totally irrational world around us. Absurd Architecture, invites us to remain present within the impossible. To inhabit uncertainty as a point for starting to walk, not towards the horizon of a dreamed future, but as a present practice as a human beings on this wonderful planet earth.
Absurd Architecture is living in the dissolving practice that composts its own certainties in order to nourish staying, settling and walking in what we cannot know.
